What do you think is the result if a favorite toy and a favorite cartoon character are combined in one toy kit? Well, so much fun!! Aside from giving my kids toys that can improve their development, I would also want to give them something that they can enjoy playing with together. This is what I found with the LEGO Angry Birds 75823 Bird Island Egg Heist Building Kit.
Who doesn’t want to play with Legos? The features of the game are pretty straightforward and have one goal like the one on the game and also from the recent movie about Angry Bird. So, the following are the features of the building kit:
- The Bird Island Egg Heist is complete with Matilda’s House equipped with an easel and staircase catapult. It also comes with plants, a branch, flower elements and the Piggy Trike.
- It has 3 figures included which are Matilda, Red and Biker Pig.
- Matilda’s House is measuring more than 5” in height, 6” in width and 3” in depth.
- For the accessories, it comes with spinning Billy the Sign, 2 bird nests and of course 4 eggs.
- With the Piggy Trike, it has a big front wheel and 2 balloons. It also has a box found at the rear where eggs are placed.
The gameplay for this one is pretty well-known not only with kids but with adults as well. Basically, the piggy stole the eggs from Matilda’s house and Red will be the one returning the eggs to their flock. Catapult Red from the house right at the Piggy Trike to take all eggs stolen.
Pros and Cons
Let’s start with pros first. Well, it doesn’t really matter if you or your kids are completely interested with Angry Birds game or with the movie as this building kit is something that my kids love. They were all fascinated with the set and since it has Legos in it even my 10-year old take interest helping out his sister and brother in building the set.
I find this set something that can enhance the creativity and imagination of my kids while having fun as they would usually expand the setting to try how far Red could go when catapulted. Since it is made from Legos, even older kids would love taking it apart and build a new structure. It all depends on the imagination of your kids. The piggy trike is somewhat interesting as my youngest would play with it while his brother and sister are busy building the set for them to play with.
For the cons, I find the materials used in this set a bit fragile as some parts are not really durable. However, I let my kids learn how to take care of their toys if they don’t want to break it so, it’s a minimal issue. The number of figures may seem useless since Red is the only one needed to be catapulted on the trike, but my kids would use Matilda at times just to make it more fun.
Overall, I find this LEGO Angry Birds 75823 Bird Island Egg Heist Building Kit worth the price. It is something interesting to get for your children who love both Legos and Angry Bird.
